We are a group of people who have faced challenges in life. Our purpose is to use our experiences to help improve services and create positive changes in Hull and beyond. We believe that our voices and stories matter and can make a real difference. A short video was created to give better understanding to what we do.

Our group welcomes people who have lived through the above life challenges. We want to provide the lived experience voice of multiple unmet needs. A platform to drive policy and practice, alongside system change.
The lived experience collective aims to use compassion and understanding alongside honesty and transparency to empower the voices of others.

How we meet
The lived experience collective come together once a month. We understand that life can be complicated, and we want to support each other's participation in ways that work for everyone.
We want everyone to feel safe and respected at our meetings. Here's how we make that happen -
- be honest with each otherrespect each person's journey
- look out for things that might upset ourselves or others
- respect personal boundaries
- we listen to understand, not just to reply
- what is said in the room stays in the room
- we remember that everyone here wants to help and support each other
- we can always add new ways of working together if needed
