The Rough Sleeper Initiative Team in Hull was developed in 2018 following funding from the government to reduce rough sleeping.
The Rough Sleeper Team offers help to people who are rough sleeping, helping in both accommodation and their support needs. The team works in partnership with other services, including health and mental health services.
They also commission the Hull Street Outreach Service, who complete daily outreach to those who are rough sleeping. Hull Street Outreach Service work 7 days a week, advocating for rough sleepers. Their tasks include -
- welfare checks
- sign posting to services
- referrals to other services
The outreach team receive referrals that will give information about someone who is rough sleeping. The team visit and make the necessary referrals to services.
